The Real Wounds - a poem in anger

While the wealthy church rants on about same sex marriages and other 'moral' issues,

children die

children die

and their parents too

while the wealthy church discusses crime at dinner parties

children are raped

abused by poverty

scabs develop into crime and brokeness

While in Elsies River and Nyanga premature death increases

And hunger prevails.

Grannies look after orphans

Scrape together a meal

59% have no income.

And should gay people who want to marry, be permitted to?

The moral issues cry PAIN

The wounds of the city cry out

The church of Christ – the hope of Glory – ignores the cries of their neighbours, if they hear them at all
